hello Bob,
I read your question and the several answers. I really agree with your view on management. Most organisations view knowledge from a subsystem perspective whereas they should see it from an aspectsystem perspective. Knowledge competencies are the ability of an organisation to assimilate, diffuse, generate and exploit explicit knowledge, but also the ability to unearth tacit knowledge by creating conditions and an atmosphere towards that goal. To me knowledge only serves to enable management and employees to generate new knowledge wherever and whenever needed. i like to hear your opinion. bye
