Hi Bob,
This might sound a bit redundant, or plainly obvious, but I believe CKO's have difficult relating the position or function or knowledge officer because..... they don't really understand what knolwedge, knowledge management or IC really is, how it works etc. So my initial suggestion would be to develop a grounding in the 'ways and means' of KM. By doing so, it then becomes obvious what integration across the organization means from the perspective of KM and IC. I can make this assumption based on the theory I've been looking into, namely how does knowledge 'function', how can we integrate technological and human knowledge resources (or tacit and explicit knowledge potentials), and how does the intellectual capital valuation process correlates.
