Agree wholeheartedly with the comments about Data Warehousing ( I believe one of the killers of KM may turn out to be the IT industry rebadging old rope with "Knowledge!" )
Interesting point on empowerment. I've noticed that empowerment in domains where "Information Workers" dominate doesn't tend to be effective, while Knowledge Workers seem to thrive on the "freedom within boundaries" which empowerment offers.
Be interested to see if anyone else has similar experiences ( or disagrees! )
