Jurgens,
Your attention is drawn to the following editorial policy stated on the FAQs page of the Think Tank:
>How Can I Share News about my New Book, Article, or Practice?
>
>Have a new book?..., a new publication?..., a practice that you have been
>implementing in an organization?..., or maybe anything about Knowledge Management
>that keeps you ticking? Talk to us... we are here to listen to you... but please do tell us
>something more than the title and price... We would like to hear from you a brief
>overview about the contents of your book/paper/practice, why you are excited about
>it, why should others be excited to know more about it...You have mentioned:
>I have replied to a specific request :"I am interested in communicating with individuals
>and/or corporations who have developed an Enterprise or Corporate Architecture
>which integrates a knowledge-based perspective."If you are responding to the specific person who posted this request, and you want to give your e- mail address, and information about _your firm's_ products or services _specific to the request_ which is not contributing to the dialog on the forum, reply to that specific person. In this context, your attention is drawn to the following 'norms for use' posted on the Think Tank main page:
>Pleas use this forum for reviews, critique, discussions, etc. of issues that are posted or are
>accessible on the web or are referred to in the discussions. You have made some strong assertions about your product that border on the characteristics of a 'sales pitch.' HOWEVER, the key issue isn't that... the key issue is that you should provide more information to back up your pitch.
You would appreciate that the value of this forum is based on high signal to noise ratio... and as the Executive Editor of this forum I make every effort to maintain it. Regardless of where your URL or link points to... if it is something you think is interesting... tell us why it is interesting... since you owe that to other forum members for paying their attention... [FYI, on this forum, the 'commercial' nature of the post is not determined by the posting entity... but based on the signal to noise ratio contributed by the posting... all entities - including commercial and noncommercial entities, individuals and organizations are treated on the same criteria.]
Further, your assertion about relevance of the URL seems redundant... the linked page provides no information about enterprise architecture or Zachman framework (whatever your view of it may be).
You have mentioned that:
>If your editors think I have misused the list, then they are welcome to let me know.
That's exactly what I have done as the Facilitator of _dialog_ on the Think Tank.
You have INCORRECTLY INTERPRETED that we are implying that you are _abusing the Think Tank_. Had it been interpreted as abuse, the posted message would have been deleted from the forum. The motivation for my response to your posting was based on the assumption that you have something more interesting [as it was affirmed by your later post] to tell beyond the 'sales pitch' that is well captured in what you have yourself stated:
>1) We are South African based which provides context
>2) The application is from the perspective of a business consulting perspective.I am sure that you would like to hear something more interesting than the information that more appropriately belongs in Yellow Pages than on a 'Think Tank.'
HOWEVER, I really appreciate your sharing the information about the relevant issues in subsequent post... that is exactly what was the motivation for providing the necessary stimulus ;-) . Feel free to discuss the details on any of the issues relevant to your post, however as mentioned above:
>Talk to us... we are here to listen to you... but please do tell us
>something more than the title and price... We would like to hear from you a brief
>overview about the contents of your book/paper/practice, why you are excited about
>it, why should others be excited to know more about it...After all, the raison d'être of this forum is... to encourage dialog.
