Greetings..

I think you have raised a very valid practical issue in KM implementation..

people percieve KM to be a 'thing' and to be fair to business organisations, KM vendors, KM consultants have sold KM as a 'thing'.

I think you should see KM as an integral part, almost invisible part of the organisation. unless each and every part of organisation is touched by KM it may not be fruitfull..

also as other members have rightly suggested.. KM is at most basic level a people thing.. what KM must endeavor to provide is a platform where it serves business interests.
Also without tying KM to business interests, it may not achieve the desired result.
