I am doing an MBA project. my subject concerns looking at the benefits of taking a systems thinking approach in particular in the provision of technical service to customers. with the substantial growth of call centres, these seem to be designed along the lines of Taylorism rather than encompassing modern day management approaches. however, are we still in the dark ages in terms of the development of our thinking skills. do we still have to break everything down to small parts in order to understand them, or is the real reason for breaking things down, a real attempt to control.
