Wouldn't you all agree that tacit knowledge not only exists - in fact it should be quite obvious that it exists - but that for each person, depending on their own ability to externalize it, the threshold at which explicit knowledge meets tacit knowledge is different?
For instance, I may have an exceptional ability to climb rocks. I may also have a partner who has an equally exceptional ability to climb rocks. My partner might have the ability to teach someone else how to climb rocks as well as he does, while I may not. What would be the difference? Well it may not be in our ability to teach, but in our ability to understand what it is that we know. For some of us knowledge of a particular subject may be almost completely tacit, while for others it may be mostly explicit.
Am I missing something?
