"Fine. But some people want to speak about
"tacit knowledge""Including yourself! or at least its non existence.
Please don't take this the wrong way but if you don't want to discuss Tacit Knowledge (whether you believe it exists or not)- don't, you don't have to post on threads. Start a thread based on your practice and experience and lets see if we can understand different perspectives instead of just argueing over semantics ;-).
If you do post on such threads there's no point just dismissing something as false if you are not going to propose an alternative theory. That is one of the basic tenets of scientific discovery. The purpose of forums like this is to share ideas for mutual understanding and benefit, not to just dismiss something out of hand without additional contribution.
In order for us to understand your perspective, as you don't believe in the concept of 'Tacit Knowledge', do you have a 'collective noun' for the type of 'knowledge' that is the:-
"background capability, partly unconscious and stemming from experience, that is used in problem-solving and other human tasks"
(Schreiber et al)or do you not believe that humans have this type of 'capability' (whether you call it knowledge or not). If we do have this capability then surely one of the aims of Knowledge Management should be to develop tools to be able to elicit this knowledge and share it, whatever its name.
Can it be done? I don't know. Does that mean we shouldn't try and clarify what it is and how to get it? - NO
Oh and lets not get into a seriously long nit-picking thread like last time :-))Pleeease
