I agree. "Tacit knowledge codification" is a paradox yet the phrase constantly re-emerges in the literature. I lifted the phrase directly from Nonaka and Takeuchi's (1995) description of their four processes of knowledge conversion:
Tacit to Tacit – Socialization
Tacit to Explicit – Externalization
Explicit to Explicit – Combination
Explicit to Tacit - InternalizationI'm just using their words without necessarily subscribing to their concepts.
