Greetings Efferon,
There are many possibilities. I guess it depends on your volume and preferences. Consider:
- Using a wiki - this allows collaborative comments and navigation via links
- Free form text database, e.g. AskSam - excellent search capabilities
- Open a blog, e.g. Blogger.com from Google - usually rather poor on archives and search
- Design a simple database, e.g. using MYSQL - you would have to design the fixed fields and queries, could also use MS Access
- Bibliographic software, e.g. Biblioscape - access on the road, citation tools and more
- Annotation tools, e.g. QuickTopic - indexing, categorization and search, may not scale well.
There are many more possibilities. Here are some of the decision points:
- Local (i.e. on your harddrive) or webbased 24x7 access?
- Costs?
- Is access required from the road? (WIFI, PDA, phone, notebook)
- Security and sharing - do you wish to allow others to have access, will you publish your notes?
- Do you need citation management? - publishing in different formats, sorting by author
- How will you do the backups, check for link rot and do you need an archive?
