Shantanu,

I try to relate Stacey's idea of Legitimate System and Shadow System. I put KM under the scope of Shadow system that focus on human relations. MBA courses to me are mostly about top down business transactions that falls in legitimate system. Business Strategy course connects all pieces together but in top down planning manner? Are most KM practices not making connections accross business units - tacit to tacit or explicit to tacit?

I believe that KM can apply to legitimate system such as business process, product, and work design also. I don't quite follow you what you meant by abstract factors and link up .... Does MBA not address that? If you can give some examples to illustrate.

Thanks

Jerry
