Suman, I would say you are half way there already.
Knowledge Management is really nothing more than a strategic focus, that recognizes profitability resides in the intellectual capital assets. The basic step is that you have to create a true social-knowledge network where people feel enough trust and security so that they can be creative. There are a wealth of methods, but the main consideration is being sincere. Most KM initiatives fail, because at their heart they are not sincere. They are simply information logistics initiatives. Knowledge initiatives requires you to get all levels of the organization to buy into the project, and modify the way they visualize their work and relationships with others. Don´t be afraid to be creative yourself. Look for methods that will accomplish this within your own company. These must adapt to your internal corporate culture so that they can truly be convincing.
Basically reestructure slowly all administrative processes to eliminate bureaucracy and empower people with the knowledge necessary to do activities. This may imply HR actions (hiring, motivating, and perhaps even some firings)
I really don´t recommend IT approaches to your company. (as I´m sure people will be recommending) Its size is more suited for architectural KM. That is, create social, and knowledge exchange areas within your company. Eliminate doors. Open the hall ways, make an effective break room. Lots of white boards everywhere (they are a REALLY cost effective tool, but not as fashionable as IT solutions).
For more help don´t hesitate to write
Best regards
Sebastián
