Most of the discussions about stories told by the 'those in the know' at Enron, World-Com, and Global Crossing have been the subject of business and technology trade press (Business Week, Info World, CIO Magazine, Economist, etc.). For instance, many of the Business Week cover stories have uncovered many such stories told by the top executives and their favorite analysts. Many such stories had been the subject of the press releases, company speeches, and even senate hearings and were believed at some time by the most revered business gurus as well as the shareholders. Of particular interest are the stories about "intellectual capital" spun by the top execs at Enron while their in-house business and technology architectures were in shambles. As well as the stories about the 'model corporation' told by one-time CEO-gurus at Tyco.
