Hi Paddy,
I should suggest visiting the following two sites:communities-of-practice.pagina.nl
virtualcommunities.start4all.comThree things that are important starting up an online Community:
1: Your Community application
2: Promoting the Virtual Community. Think about Search engines, Links on the right sites and sending e-mail to the relevant persons and invite them for participating.
3. Keeping your community alive. Send at least once every two weeks a newsletter to your members and also keep getting new members. Also suggested reading: "Net Gain" bij Hagel and "The Virtual Community" by Howard Rheingold.
With kind regards,
Jeroen van de Wiel
