Hi Peter:
At the risk of being 'stoned to death' in this forum, I give you this.
My current personal focus is in three key areas. KM, HCM and EQ. My theory is thus: with the balance of HCM, which provides a physical capacity, KM, which provides a creative capacity, and EQ, which provides a spiritual capacity, I feel I can develop a capability that is best suited for, well, anything! The development of this model is slow, though, but it pertains mostly to my experience in 'capability planning', Human Resource Management, and Information technology. I'm very confident with the HCM/KM link! But I haven't had a lot of opportunity to explore all of the issues here. But if you want to take this to the extreme, just look at how the modern day military operates! Can this work in modern business? Why not? My weakest link is in the EQ arena. I just bought my first book and I'll know more after the holidays...! But, intuitively, I think the link between all three is there, it's strong, but it's really unexplored.
My main interest in this area was as a result of my involvement in the military. And I really became tired of seeing all of these statistics about KM this and HCM that and EQ this and Strategy that...! There has to be a link...in my mind. My challenge is to find it!
What do you think?
Joe...!
