yes, I think that's one of the biggest changes and evolutions from the old suggestion box through to KM-rich Idea Management solutions as they exist today is the extra attention spent on the underlying people processes.

It actually has to cover far more than just implementation - people want to know what is happening to their idea at all stages. Has it been accepted? Is anyone looking at it? Has someone commented on it? What was the result of the formal evaluation? What are the next steps? These are just some of the questions employees ask when they submit their knowledge in the form of ideas.

Getting feedback throughout the process to them not only sets expectations appropriately, but also encourages collaboration, encourages further knowledge sharing, and increases the amount of valuable knowledge that gets submitted - both within that event and in future events.
