Well to be honest Don,
I'm still not a fan of the accounting elements of your theory - but I have no trouble with the contents of this posting.
Although as a add-on, ideas as a knowledge form can come in several forms with differing elements of tacit and explicit knowledge depending on the method of creation - directed, indirected, or spontneous as an "a-ha" moment.
In addition, although an idea is broken up into information & data - it is infused with knowledge because of the nature of an idea - ie. an idea usually contains an element of action which embodies the knowledge used in its creation.
I lik your definition of KM in a nutshell - but I think the aim of KM is not only to understand and aid in the effectiveness of the process of knowledge sharing - but also to ensure the knowledge is applied into actions - because it isn't knowledge in itself that has value - but rather the actions that the knowledge enables.
What do you think?
