Hi Don
There are many reasons why a company makes a profit - and profit (ie money in the bank) is not a pure function of Intellectual Capital - there are tons of reasons why companies end up with more cash in the bank than they spent - both internal factors (good strategies, good ability to implement them, etc) which could be interpreted to an extent as IC - but also external factors (a competitor's reactions, market affinity for the product, and even sheer luck!) that are in no way related to the company - let alone its IC.
