I believe ultimately it is competition for those certification dollars and elusive brand recognition. GKEC rushes to occupy a new niche (economics) when the 'innovation' scene became to crowded. KMCI seeks to position itself as the intellectual leader and Entovation looks to become the next high ground when folks move away from knowledge sharing to focus on knowledge creation.
The danger for these 'tribes' is their constant warfare becomes a time and resource sink, the peripheral participants move elsewhere looking for that elusive practical advice, quality, value and breaking news.
