I would suggest to make efficient use of time and check out the following site before wasting your time elsewhere as suggested in a couple of earlier postings.
http://www.KMNetwork.com/tools.html
I reviewed the web sites for knowledge management technologies suggested in the earlier postings and as a matter of fact am very disappointed at the contents of those sites in terms of the depth of content, richness of content, and currency of content. For instance, for the kmconnection web site, most of the categories in the content table have no entries (0 entries) at all, others have skeletal if any information available for a decision maker like me to make any assessment about any given technology, while information in many other categories is hopelessly out-of-date (For instance, has anyone bothered to check what version of Oracle is the current version or which version is best suited for technologies that make reference to Oracle platform?).
Here is what a decision maker like me is looking for in a Knowledge Management Technology or Tool guide. I need:
a) in-depth and up-to-date information about each of the technologies listed in the index;
b) in-depth and up-to-date detailed articles from the top technology and business publications related to those technologies;
c) in-depth and up-to-date understanding of what are the overlaps of the specific technology with other similar terms;
d) up-to-date knowledge about most popular web sites or glossaries where I can find information about the specific technology;
e) information about organizations, associations, and societies relevant to any specific technology;
f) information about industries and organizations using those specific technologies, the relative popularity of use of those technologies in terms of new job positions related to those technologies;
g) any books, articles, and chapters related to those technologies.The only web site that comes close to meeting the above information needs, and qualifies currently as the deepest and most up-to-date resource of all above categories of information related to Knowledge Management Tools and Technologies is http://www.KMNetwork.com/tools.html . The neat thing is that for each of the listed technologies, you get a customized search portal that covers each of the information categories listed above. You may also use the search engine to find information about any other technologies that are not listed. I believe the information from the search portals could be categorized at a more granular level and I would be happy to pay for that service, still the above portal provides a great starting point for doing so if you need to do so.
Enjoy!
