I see now clearer what your objectives are. I am actually facing a similar problem.

However, in reality there are bottlenecks to get truly the synergy of sharing knowledge or transfering knowledge. One of the problems is that organizations are protective and the organization itself has no incentives to change it. If you look at the automobile industry were in the late 90s alot of M&A happened, the core objective was to gain market share and share knowledge. Nowadays we can see how long it took actually to get synergy effects.

I am truly fond of your vision, but there has to be done alot of changes in the visions of the firms. Since, firms recognized the limits, they are searching for alternative strategic choices, such as technology, which is actually my focus. It seems that there is a great opportunity to use e-learning as a tool to acquire knowledge and to make better decisions. Up till now, I still do not know how the impact of e-business models on the knowledge cycle will be.

I hope that gives you a little bit clearer picture of what I see in your research.
