It is really simplistic to think that we can determine what is true and what is false. Remember the fable of the blind men and the elephant. Each person is right and at the same time wrong.
The approach I would suggest, that is inline with scientific thinking, is to observe and record everything and hopefully with the help of technology and human intellect we can make sense of it.
It is a complex world out there.
