This whole debate is obviously an epsitemological debate and therefore as the discussion predates Socrates we may assume that it may continue to evolve for the couple of thousand years more. My thoughts tend to consider knowledge as perceived truth of the moment.
But I feel that epistemology is relevent for KM as it serves to highlight how knowledge is specific and relevent to the organisation that creates and utilises it. Therefore it would appear important that any KM strategy should seek to make the process bespoke to the operations and processes of the organisation, rather than merely attempting to imitate "best practice" (as this this will have been conceptualised via the bespoke knowledge of other organisations).
