Mezei,

What a topic! It is a headful, and I am not sure I have it all. But I have some reason to be thinking about how to melt all our great discussions into useful nuggets for our organization. One of the sticking points we have is, "What is knowledge?" The real question: "What is knowledge for us?" This helps us explicate the "knowledge" parts of our business - the things that are important to us.

This leads me to your thoughts about knowing what is true. Is it possible to correlate with the philosophical "truth" to "that which has value" for the business? For instance, data is not valuable - it is not right or wrong. The stuff that has value is an assessment/analysis of the data and information we have collected. The value is the "truth" we squeeze out of the laboratory and other experiences.

Hrm... This doesn't work completely. There is also a lot of value in knowing the quality of the data or information on which we are basing our analyses. Or is that simply part of the analysis and truth-seeking proposition?

Fun.

Jack
