Hi TMalik,
I would say that the ability to create value is a necessary component of LONG TERM success.
however, just because someone can create value, success does not follow automatically. You need to have luck, perseverence, be at the right place at the right time etc.
Which brings us to another question, who is to determine that value has been created? something that is valuable for one person (e.g. a hairbrush)may be totally useless to another (e.g. a bald man!)
