Interesting questions that will definitely help elaborate upon the earlier discussion. For the specific example that you have stated (Owner--->Manager/ Broker/ Agent/KM/--->Transferee), both success and value are a function of the specific roles assumed by the actors in the exchange network. Often, in many cases, not unlike the business models that link the supply side to demand side, individual success and value may also depend upon shared success and value. Now it may happen that one or more roles may have different perceptions of values, for instance, given the specific case of intrinsic motivation, some roles may participate to "see others succeed" and may achieve a sense of success and value in that.

Therefore, coming back to your earlier example, each of the roles in (Owner--->Manager/ Broker/ Agent/KM/--->Transferee) has an individual function of success and value that overlaps with the other roles' functions of success and value. The greater the overlap, the different roles may become combined or may collaborate to increase joint success and value. Given that in many such cases, all three roles are important for individual and shared success, each has a stake in individual as well as joint success and value creation. If the process fails, and none of the parties gains in terms of self-perceived notions of success or value, none of them is successful. If process works to some extent, it may very well happen that some roles may see themselves succeeding but not being able to generate the value that matters to them. For a sustainable system, each of the roles has to achieve some measure of progress towards self-perceived measures of success and value or have the self-motivation necessary to continue contributing to the overall process despite achieving neither success or value.
