Reilly,

I am glad to read your posting. I have read your contribution in previous discussions. I find myself honored to learn from great people here. It is the first and real taste of knowledge Sharing for me. I can't reckon what incentives can be behind this sharing, other than, availability of a platform and desire to get in touch with one another.
Of course there is a trigger behind us...to learn what we know we don’t know, and to expand our knowledge by sharing it...it is of no use to leave it to rust. Brushing of the forming head on our knowledge is another trigger, being safe that it will not be played against us, is yet another.
After this 'thanking' note, let me seek a little more help from you colleagues out there: I would like to construct a model, more like an economic model. I understand that quantifying intrinsic and extrinsic incentives by variables and measure their relationship is not an easy job. It may not be possible, but I believe there must be a way to present relationships between bid side-and-offer for Knowledge sharing may be shown by some kind of model.
NB. One more incentive for knowledge sharing I have just discovered is that at this platform, one feels easy to communicate, irrespective of the mistakes. No one sees anyone, and no one knows any other (expect where it is not true!)
Please advise if any one feels comfortable with it. May I be excused for any confusion in my writing please!
TMalik
