Riva,

Re: "I agree with Akhil that at least this forum should be kept for free,..."

As specified in another message the intent is not to make this specific forum for fee, but to raise fees from our other services to subsidize this forum to keep it free.

Re: "AS Akhil said, The forum lack a real corporate/organizational memory, and... corporate memory should try to deliver the ideas of the regular users about"

As costs are covered and revenues generated for "survival" and "growth" discussed by Jeffery, higher value services can be offered at lower costs offering relatively greater value progressively by keeping the price of entry constant or at a relatively lower price if the economics permit this. The other part of the professional / consulting services should be rolled out as the last generation of community oriented services are replaced by state-of-art capabilities back by advanced technologies.

Re: 2)Zero flaming is not always positive...

Thanks for reminding about this important benchmark [IMHO] of any successful community. Yes, we must need 'creative abrasion' and 'creative conflict'... Yes, this community of interests / practice has been able to achieve these successfully on these forums on a sustained basis... but that is the nice kind of 'dialog'. If you search the forums for earlier messages posted by Malhotra or others on conflict of ideas while minimizing conflict of personalities:

How CoP Members Can Have a "Good" Fight aka 'Creative Abrasion'

you will find that flaming, i.e., derogatory attacks of any kind of personal attacks are discouraged in our model of community. I believe that this is in congruence with the philosophy and research that has been guiding the development of the human side of this technological interface.

No disrespect assumed or interpreted... as your points are clearly about specific issues / ideas that can be resolved without trying to belittle or disparage anyone at all... I believe that we have been able to sustain the legacy of 'Letting a Thousand Flowers Bloom' inherited from prior editors and moderators of these forums.

Kind regards,

BK
