Denham,
in your upper level list of tools categories you miss one from the full taxonomy: learning enhancement and acceleration.

There is a variaty of e-learning tools that could (should?) be considered within KM domain: learning environments, authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), learning content management systems (LCMS)... May be they could be treated as subsets of "general" KM categories (e.g. LCMS will go under "content management").

The problem is that in practice training&development is considered as something quite different than KM (at least with at the level of decision-making responsibilities), so it is not clear how e-learning tools could be considered within selection process.
