In KM it is important to know it's product. If we have a project the knowledge of which we want to manage we should clearly have in mind the value we want to deliver. That is, we should know how to update the content of the project, what to archive/delete when, and who should have read write access to what specific knowledge. That I think, is the essence of what KM of a Project should yield.
