Hi Ross,

I agree that it takes quite a bit of time for new london cabbies to absorb 'the knowledge'.

however, Nas' question really was as to how to use IT to improve NY cabbies.

My point was that you do not really need to use IT to acheive this. 'the knowledge' for our Londoners was very effective long before the widespread advent of IT systems.

Also, 'the knowledge' may be useful in giving the cabbies info about how to get around. but the 'cabbie culture' is greatly facilitated by story telling & examples of how to act in various situations.

Many successful organizations rely on story telling to underline their 'way' (think GE & McKinsey)
