Hi Chris,

I think that learning management is the desired end result of knowledge management. Which is to say that we 'learn' or acquire know-how by managing our knowledge effectively.

It really depends on how you understand the terms KM. From my perspective, effective or succesful KM creates a balanced knowledge axis within the organization, which has the effect of allowing individual employees to go forward and learn, or acquire 'know-how'. KM creates the impetus.
