Hi Abi Dabu. Ok, I've read through your letter carefully several times. I'm afraid I still don't understand what you mean with the term BPR. ok, you was a little bit too big and you fired four people. Ok, I don't know your firm and your sector, I can't pretend you were righ or wrong. But the point is, this is a simple downsizing. Do we need consultants, genius, brilliant people for that??? There were four people you thought they were useless and you got rid of them??? Is that an example of brilliant thinking? How long did you take to take the decision??? How many meetings and sleepless nights? How many "Rightsizing brainstorming"??? Anybody could take such a decision, without any degrees...Where is the revolution??? Where is the quantum change promised by Hammer & Champy???
2)A middle manager was so frightened that asked you even to take a taxi. you empowered him. Good, he will ask his momma now to take the taxi. A sound decision, but again, where is the revolution???? WHY DON'T YOU FORGET ALL THIS RETORIC WHICH OVERWHELMS BUSINESS WORLD??? BPR claimed to achieve a radical sustainable advantage. Does your company achieve it because you fired four people??? I don't think so!!! Maybe the others now are more frightened than before!!! Maybe it's for that reason that the middle manager asked you for everything. Don't you know people are scared after downsizing??? People are afraid to be empowered when downsizing is used because they get sacked easier. Is terror the way to achieve a competitive advantage??? Sorry, Abi Dabu, but I'm not pullimg your legs...I really think you're clever, therefore why do you go on trying cheating me with empty rethoric??? Use your soul (I've read a lot of mottos in your letters) and speak clearly!!! Open up your hidden agendas!!! Why do you want to defense a practice (BPR) which everybody is critizicing??? (Read the last message in Forget Nonaka!!!). Open up, I don't collect taxes!!!!
REgards (I know this letter is strong, and I understand if you don't want to keep in touch with me anymore....). but be sure I'm speaking to you sincerely. I'm not a consultant and I don't have anything at stake...
