Ms. Gianluca -- Let me add just a few things to the astute comments of Rob and Denham. I do this because creativity has been a passion of mine for many years, as a scientist, businesman and jazz musician. For what it's worth, my experience suggests that managing and/or promoting creativity is mainly an intuitive process -- at times, not dissimilar to being a parent. And, the process is, I think, opaque to systematic organization.

In my opinion, perhaps the best book on creativity is, "The Psychology of Invention in the Mathematical Field" written by the eminent French mathematician Jaques Hadamard in 1944-available from Dover books. It is the first book to discuss in great detail the role of the unconscious in creativity, the role of thinking in images, and is based upon interviews with world-class thinkers, including Einstein. And you don't need a math background to read the book.

Another excellent book, considerably softer than Hadamard's, is Creativity - Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention by Mihaly Csikszentmihaly.

Good luck,
Reilly Atkinson
