I'm not offended: I like the spirited debates. I know very well organizations must make money!!! They are not angels, and I'm not an angel neither!!! That's why I'm angry!!! Do you know any successful knowledge management project??? Can you show me the money? Can you describe me the splendid triumph of BPR, which claimed to change the business world achieving just the biggest flop we have ever seen in our history? I've been also studying (like or not, believe or not) the managerial fad phenomenon. I know that several consultants and softwarehouses are playing the commodifying game to make money as much as possible and as soon as possible. That's the way companies look at KM. A piece of cake to eat. I know my ideas are different of that ones of most CEO/CIO/CKO/CLO (add as many as you like), but this doesn't mean authomaticaly my ideas are wrong and they're right. I know they're big guys and I'm not. I know everything. You also say I'm obsessed with theory. Well, I'm not saying a CEO must study Plato, nut at least he had to decide if knowledge is an object or a process, or no decision or strategy will have sense!!!! KM is going to die just because no one cares this distinction!!! Welcome theory, if it's useful to save the practice. I hope you're not offended. But you know, I'm Italian...
Bye for now
