Hi Denham:
Very much appreciate your continued input into this dialogue. I'm beginning to get the picture, but there are always more questions. Please take your time answering those that you don't mind responding to. As always thanks much in advance: the KM gods or your KM karma will reward you! I hope to be able to return the favor some day.
Sincerely,
Dave"free form webpages with a top notch search engine" -- can you recommend a search engine? How much should one expect to spend on this approximately? Are there any good freeware search engines available that you know of?
"top management asking sharp questions" -- have you collected any of these questions that top management has asked at the sites where you have created corporate yellow pages? [I think in your conversation with Jan a year ago you mentioned that you have worked on 6 such projects.] What data collection techniques did you use on those projects? Did you conduct employee interviews, for example, as part of the data collection process? If so, were they face to face or telephone interviews? What was the average length of the project for how many employees.
AskMe, WeTellYou, Organik. Have you used any of these in the corporate YP projects you managed? If not what did you use? Which software package do you think is best for this type of project? Are they worth the cost or could one manage well enough with a webserver, search engine and asp scripts?
"IMO" -- I think this acronym refers to problems that need a solution, but what is the translation exactly?
Tom Davenport's current email address: I met him at a dinner once 3 years ago and he gave me his card, but I no longer have it. I've sent the YP reference request to 2 email addresses published in older articles by him, but these addresses are no longer valid.
Thanks again.
Dave
