Sandhya

Thank you for your input, I have been conducting some research into companies and their attitude to KM. The results point to a keen interest and participation by Middle management who see KM as a tool to improve their work loads. The Upper Management however do not have this level of interest or indeed the level of understanding. This will mean that you cant obtain the necessary resources tofund the projects.

The trust element has two effects:-
1. The upper management do not trust the opinions of middle management to provide this type of direction.
2. The various KM groups do not trust each other to co-operate and provide focus and critical mass to change the opinions of "Upper Management" or"Boards". Eg different divisions compete with each other to gain recognition.

Brint is a starting point for KM workers but how do we change the insecurities that have been built up over time?

Andrew
