Do you have a strict time frame for implementation, if so try looking at "Sharepoint" from Microsoft, it's not perfect but it is quick and easy to set up, as well it allows reasonable security and document tracking.

Programs like Sharepoint can reduce the maintenance, provide facility for discussions and is quite flexible and fast to implement.

Havent seen many case studies that have reflected my own projects in the past since the variables and issues are usually quite different. I have found internal participation more productive than case studies personally.
