Best (useful) practices and their realization in a data format

Dear all,

I am building a global intranet for our company (>5000 people). As well I am responsible for developing a knowledge approach for the company. I convinced most of the top managers not to think in terms of knowledge management but in terms of knowledge networking (bringing the people who are looking for information/solution together with people who can give the answers).

But now the top management requested to put a "database" for best (useful) practices in the global intranet, since that is part of the implementation of Six Sigma.

Thinking in the networking approach, I am quite unsure if the storage of a best practice can really help, since they will be outdated as soon as being written (if they are to complex).

I read some of your comments on the topic and I liked the best principles approach. I think I can sell them this approach as a best practice approach, since we have not a formal best practice appraoch yet.

Can anybody send me links to resources about how to structure a best priciple adn how to store them in a appropiate formatin a database?
(Or for best practices, I will then extract the important piece).

By the way: I plan to connect them to our yellow pages and the global phonebook. Do you think this is a good idea.

Thanks a lot for your comments,
Patrick
