Perhaps the best examples of CoPs play an evolved version of follow the leader. Now, exactly what we decide to follow, be it an individual, a 'system', or an eco-system is left up to the individual CoP. By studying evolutionary dynamics in the hopes of discovering the rules of successful organizational dynamics, you will no doubt discover how complex systems revolve around, or are based upon, simple relationships. So perhaps the best CoPs start out with an adherence to simplicity, simple living etc and build their complex social systems upon this foundation.
