These words are possible to define. Yang is action, yin is reaction. Knowledge does, management reacts. Knowledge seeks to expand, management seeks to contract. This is an ongoing 'dance'. The better we understand the dance, the more we can accomplish.
For example, too much knowledge leads to an overly 'stimulated' company without enought 'management' direction. The result? Knowledge consumes management, just as heat consumes cold etc. Therefore the critical need for 'alignment' between knowledge and management or yang and yin.
This concept is nothing new, of course. But how we maintain alignment between knowledge and management is the trickly aspect, and the role - in my opinion - of the knowledge manager.
