Greetings Margaret,
Here is a recent collection of papers, Information Alchemy, The Art and Science of Knowledge Management, Volume 3, EDUCAUSE Leadership Strategies by Gerry Bernbom (Editor)
Articles and links are few and far between, my collection and some notes on "KM on campus" is given below.
Extraction & transfer of tacit knowledge:
Wonder if things would be any different on a campus? I can see uses for yellowpages, 'tacit miners', e.g. AskMe, Tacit, Autonomy, RagingKnowledge; communties of practice, brown-bag lunches, faculty professional development groups, teaching & student exchanges, student mentoring and coaching, perhaps even some CRM for faculty to connect to industry and sponsors. One innovative area that comes to mind is the "Community of Science" concept, a virtual community where academics can locate and collaborate around funding and grant opportunities.
It seems a shame, that Higher Ed, a body that takes pride in it's ability to create knowledge is so far behind in the field of KM quite a paradox. Faculty tell me they do so much f2f tacit knowledge transfer in their classes, they have no time to muddle with KM stuff!
A good place to look for leads may be those Universities that offer KM degrees and courses KM education
Good luck with your quest.
