I'm not sure if we're in agreement or not. I agree with you inasmuch as an organization can only profit (not only in a pecuniary sense) when a tacit or explicit knowledge process
triggers a transaction to take place, regardless if it is a poor or good investment transaction. But Intellectual Capital exists whether or not it is being harnessed and even if no one is aware of its existence.
I think that much of the job of knowledge management is to find pockets of IC in a company and find ways to maximize its yield.
