Hi Martyn,
If you can't show a tangible return for using KM in your hypothetical example, i dont think that you should STOP using knowledge completely.however, you should definitely consider how much money & time you want to spend on implementing a formal KM system.
maybe something as simple & cheap as having weekly meetings with your customer service reps would suffice.
