Hi Abi, your problems are, unfortunately, are not unique, I would suggest that the majority of KM initiatives flounder due to the same problems. All of your problems stem from one condition, lack of GM “buyin”. The sponsor for any KM project must be the CEO (MD). Only with his/her “buyin” will you remove the majority of your problems. Once your CEO is on line you will find an immediate desire by all groups to get involved. However, it is not a cure all, you must clearly demonstrate, what a lot of KM gurus fail to do, that there is a business case and a business result from implementing a KM solution.
